Yay! We made it!

Week 3 was the week we had to present our learning to the school.

This was very challenging. A lot of us were anxious and nervous. Many do not want to come to school for the Friday Assembly. This was the first challenge we have to face as a class.

Our first challenge was to figure out our airplane position. Habitat 6 has 24 students. One student will be away on that day. We have to figure out an airplane position for 23 students.

Ka pai Joshua! You're the closest to an airplane position! 

Our next challenge was to find out what an effective learner is. We made posters on what an effective learner is. We still have lots to learn about being an effective learner.

To be an effective learner, we need to actively listen. We need to take risk, we need to try and we should not give up. 

We made it! We took the challenge and we faced it! Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement!

WOW Week 2

WOW is for our WOW words.
Scampering, stomping, and clomping.
These are words from our Shared Reading book- 
"Mice in the Kitchen".
Look for the blends.
Look for the -ing word ending or -ing word family.

WOW is for Week 2.
Term 1 seems to be taking off.
We are learning our routines.
We  are learning all about Bayview school's expectation.

Our first day back!

We are Habitat 6!

Some days, some of us come to school really happy and excited!

Some days, some of us come looking really serious. Some days, some of us come to school sad or lonely.

Some days some of us come very overwhelmed, nervous, and scared. Some days some of us come feeling tired and exhausted. Some days, some of us come to school feeling mad, angry, and grumpy. These feelings do not define us. We are learning to overcome our negative emotions so that we can face the challenge ahead of us.

When we are faced with hard and difficult tasks, we have to remember that our brain is like a muscle (Click on the link to see the video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zrtHt3bBmQ ).

In the first few weeks of the term we are learning about our classroom and school routines and expectations.

REMINDER for parents/ guardians:  EXPECTATION MEETINGS is coming up next week on Wednesday, 8th February.  This meeting is where teachers get to share their expectations of your child and parents get to meet the child's class teacher and ask questions about how you can assist with their learning. You can choose the following times 3.15pm- 3.45pm; 3.45-4.15pm, 4.15pm-4.45pm.
